It’s amazing how the strongest bonds that tie us together can be intangible things. Small things, like willingness to help out a stranger, gentle acts of politeness and kindness, and a gracious respect for others no matter how different they may seem. The essence of being Canadian is hard to define – but Canadians know it, and feel it.

We launched CaLove through an effort to reflect Canadian values, in simple, comfortable clothing that we can be proud to wear.

In doing so, we defined some additional values that matter to us that guide our approach. These are:

  • Show who we are, not who we are not: You won’t see any “Canada is not for sale” messages here. We’re here to help Canadians reflect their love of their nation, not to display reactions to our neighbours or to try to define us as “not them”.
  • Profit, but don’t profiteer: We’re committed to providing apparel at prices Canadians can afford. Some sourcing methods will cost more than others – we’ll use modest profit margins to build our business.
  • Innovate and adapt: We’ll try many things, likely some really bad ideas that will flop. We’ll learn from our failures and keep trying new things.

As is true of our country, evolution is essential for improving our way of life. Let’s be open-minded, try new things, and grow together.

Early steps in a long journey

Community is the key to success, for CaLove, and our nation as a whole. It’s our goal to stay connected and committed to community every step of the way. If you’re interested in coming along for the ride, contact us and we’ll add you to our communication list.
